Mike rode with Scotty. They started out the relay leaving Moab, then later rode through Capitol Reef and ended up finishing their last leg at Brian Head Ski Resort which is above 10,000 feet! Their total mileage was 130 miles and they climbed about 10,233 feet.
Mike and Scotty fresh at the starting line in Moab, Utah.
Salty sweaty grossness of three bike rides without a shower.
Mike was able to NOT get in a bike accident this year (thank goodness!) though Scotty had some technical difficulties when his big chainring (the ring, not the chain) FELL OFF his bike after he was rear ended by another biker. So odd...
Scott was a bit cranky about this situation...

Check out the elevation - 10,523 feet! The finish line (for mike)
MEANWHILE - some of the ladies went down to St. George to get tan and relaxed as we waited for the guys to finish their ride so we could meet them at the finish line. Daniel LOVED the baby pool. He mostly liked riding on my back AROUND the baby pool.
The team at the finish line.
Daniel missed his Dad and was thrilled to have him home. Surprisingly, Mike had energy to play with Daniel and play horsey - one of Daniel's favorite games.
It was a fun weekend - and was fun to support Mike in his fun hobbies. I've really been missing road biking this season, so I am glad at least Mike is getting his fill.
Before we took Bill's truck back (which Mike borrowed) we took it through the carwash. Daniel HATES car washes, but here's a picture of him trying to be brave...
