The "biggest blow in a decade"

Today, Salt Lake experienced gale-force winds with gusts that were clocked at more than 100 mph.  The winds were so strong that roofs were ripped off, power was down, trees were uprooted... it was insane - and loud. It was so loud I thought our roof was going to fly off.  At the mouth of Parley's Canyon (where we live) the wind was clicked at 65mph at 7:00am.

Mike and Daniel went outside this morning to survey the damage. Needless to say, Daniel HATES the wind.

Daniel was worried about his swing that ended up twisted in the high part of our tree.

Daniel was really upset. Not sure why Mike kept snapping pictures... it was probably time to stop surveying the downed road signs and go back inside...

This tree fell across the entire lot of our neighbor's home. It was a miracle that it didn't hit a single house.  Houses in our neighborhood are pretty small - this tree could have taken down and entire upstairs.
