The Eglo has arrived!

That's right folks - which means that Mary, Coco and Meatball are getting old enough to move out of my basement to live on their own (kind of)!  I'm thrilled that in no time they'll be hanging out under the plumb tree, eating my table scraps and laying eggs.

We ordered our Eglo online a couple of weeks ago and had it shipped all the way from England. It's preditor proof, can be cleaned out with a hose and is even insulated for those cold winter months (or in this year's case, insulated for those cold May days...).

Here are some pictures of the chickens in their coop for the very first time.  Mike and Patrick put the coop together in the pitch black dark (because we couldn't figure out how to get our motion lights to stay on...you'd figure after two years living here we'd have it all figured out...)

Notice the hatch for quick and secure egg harvesting?

I think the Eglo also looks like a University of Utah football helmet. Go Utes!
